Take a moment and think how your life would be different without the use of mobile devices? I can’t even imagine how mine would be. Smartphones have made our lives much simpler by providing us with innovative apps. The features of these apps have definitely changed the behavior of people by making them spend hours and hours on their smartphones. Mobile payment is a digital trend that is constantly occurring because it makes it easier for people to pay their bills and buy products through mobile devices.In addition, banks have developed apps to enable their customers to pay their bills and conveniently transfer money. On the other hand, there are apps such as Payd that provide businesses with the feature of accepting payments (debit & credit) through their mobile devices. The digital trend of mobile payment could impact an organization’s digital strategy in the next three years by enabling them to track customer trends and inventory, i.e., they can know which products/services were liked the most by their customers. Furthermore, organizations can integrate loyalty and incentive programs which will give customers the opportunity to earn points and receive awards ( doing this will make your customers want to return). One of the most frustrating things a customer feels when shopping online is when it comes to the final stage of making the payment.Therefore, organizations should try and make it faster for customers to quickly make an online payment. For example, Amazon Login and Pay has made it easy for their customers to purchase products without having to input all their credit card information over and over again.
I believe, it’s important for businesses and individuals to remain up to date with any recent digital trends because you never know how they can benefit you in the future. As a potential employee, I definitely want to remain relevant by:
- Staying active on social media platforms and utilizing them to filter content that’s relevant to marketing. After doing research on content curation tools, I have realized that Storify is a great tool to curate content because it’s user- friendly, helps you organize social media posts and create interesting stories.
- Leverage online education resources such as Hootsuite University.
- Network with professionals through Linkedin.
Using social media analytics tools such as Google analytics and Crowdbooster have helped me understand how to track traffic on social media platforms. I plan to continuously use these tools to track my social media accounts and website in order for me to keep track of my users. I was recently using Google analytics and I stumbled across interesting features, which provide a user with information such as: which country you’re getting traffic from and whether your users are accessing your website through their desktops or mobile devices. This information is beneficial for businesses in order for them to know where their traffic is coming from.
